The Science Bit...
Your body needs a balance of essential nutrients: proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals for it to function efficiently. These nutrients are needed to provide energy for growth, repair, detoxification and reproduction.
Foods contain the variety of nutrients needed to enable our bodies to perform these functions and therefore maintain health. If we do not consume the required amounts then certain processes in our bodies start to break down and this is when we experience symptoms of dietary deficiencies.
This can be a very gradual process and can go unnoticed for many years. Adopting a healthy balanced lifestyle and diet will help maintain, and even improve your health for the future.
